Spokane Taiko

Spokane Taiko performs Japanese drumming and was founded in 1997. Their “Thunderous Entertainment” seeks to build community and create awareness through the traditional Japanese music, especially rhythms, dance and martial arts. They embody the spirit of Taiko as an ancient Japanese art form, while honoring its vitality as a living artistic expression. Audiences will be soothed at times and electrified at others by the primal beat and pulse of the instruments. The group plays Taiko drums and other traditional percussion instruments. They perform both traditional Taiko and original songs.
