About the Festival

Donate to Support the Festival
The Spokane Folklore Society's Fall Folk Festival is a free event that features eight stages of traditional and ethnic dance, music, workshops, unique entertainment, and jam sessions. Traditional crafts are also available for sale at the festival.

A traditional New England Contra dance will close the festival on Saturday and Sunday evenings.

The festival is designed to support our regional folk musicians, showcasing many local artists who are hidden gems worth discovering. Approximately 100 performing groups will represent a diverse range of traditions, including Celtic, bluegrass, blues, African, Asian, and Middle Eastern music, among others.

Approximately 6,000 people attend this festival each year.

To make the event successful, several hundred volunteers are needed to help during the festival days. We rely on donations from sponsors and individuals, as well as the sale of buttons at the event, to support the festival. The committee aims to raise around $30,000 each year to cover expenses such as rent, sound equipment, craft supplies, publicity, printing, security, and the costs of required building staff. All performers and festival organizers generously donate their time and talent.

We invite you to spend the weekend with us or drop by whenever you can. There is always something exciting happening during the festival.

While you enjoy the entertainment and browse the vendors, don't miss the festival's bake sale, which offers a variety of baked goods and coffee.
