The Baharat Dance Company offers beginning and continuing classes in the authentic dances of the Middle East and North Africa, including belly dance, traditional folk styles from various regions, and theatrical works. Dances Of Universal Peace
Dances of Universal Peace teaches dances of peace in the Sufi tradition, honoring the One in the diversity of religions and spiritual traditions around the world. We hold participatory dances every second and fourth Thursday of the month at 7:00 p.m. at the Unitarian Church (4340 W. Fort George Wright Drive).

Mary Zhang, a visionary artist and cultural advocate, founded MaryDanceStudio with the goal of preserving and promoting traditional Chinese dance. She fosters community engagement and cultural pride through performances and cultural exchange events, significantly enriching Spokane’s artistic landscape and inspiring others to embrace diverse cultural expressions. Mary teaches a variety of traditional Chinese dances, including Han dance, Tibetan dance, Mongolian dance, Han jazz dance, and Qipao dance. All classes are free and open to the public, focusing on younger generations eager to explore Chinese culture and history.

Spokane Square Dance starts its lessons in September in Spokane, Spokane Valley, Cheney, Coeur d’Alene, and Clarkston. Square dancing is family-friendly and for ages 10 to 100. Single dancers are welcome. You do not need a partner. Our dances are non-competitive, and the dress is casual. Square dancing provides a low-impact, aerobic exercise at a walking pace, and no experience is necessary. However, smiles are required, and we will provide laughter and cookies.
