Music Workshops for 2019

Native and Mesoamerican Flute with Peter Ali 
(Saturday, November 12 at 4:30 - 6:00 pm – Conference Room)
 
Ever wanted to learn how to play the Native American flute? Native American flutist Peter Ali, a self-taught flutist, will show you what he knows about playing this beautiful and healing instrument. No prior experience is necessary. Participants will receive a handmade cedar flute to use during the workshop. This workshop is for ages 4th grade through adult.

​Mountain Dulcimer with the Spokane Dulcimer Guild
(Saturday, 1:30 - 2:30 pm – Conference Room, Building 6)

Come and experience the beautiful music of a mountain dulcimer performed by members of the Spokane Dulcimer Guild and hear a brief history about this instrument. Also available is the option for audience participation to explore and then play, with instruction, simple tunes on a mountain dulcimer.

Songwriting Ideas with Larry Lotz
(Saturday, 3:30 to 4:30 pm – Rocket Bakery Stage, Building 5)

Larry is an Americana folk-style singer/songwriter. He plays guitar, harmonica and mandolin. Larry has written more than seventy-five songs in the last three years. He gathers his song writing inspiration from the spirit of Bob Dylan and storytelling about real people, as in Jim Croce’s compositions.

​Singing Sea Shanties with Hank Cramer
(Saturday, 4:45 to 5:45 – Rocket Bakery Stage, Building 5)

Hank Cramer is a fulltime traveling folksinger from Winthrop, WA. His repertoire includes western, Celtic, maritime, cowboy songs and sea shanties.

​Children of the Sun: Workshop and Drum Circle
(Sunday, 3:15 to 4:30 pm – Small Gym, Building 5)

Everyone is welcome. Some drums will be available to share.
