Folklorist, writer and singer, LaVona Reeves, recently set some of her poems to music.
She learned her favorite folk songs (mostly laments) from her mother and great-grandma, Maggie, as they sat around the kitchen table after supper on the family farm.
LaVona learned fiddle tunes from her grandpa, who played with his father, an old-time fiddler. Her grandpa played and called for country dances on the Great Plains.
LaVona has performed at the Susquehanna Folk Festival and many places in the Northwest.
