The KPBX Live Broadcast takes place on Saturday from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm.
Spokane Folklore Society is celebrating the bounty of local traditional music at their annual event, the 24th Fall Folk Festival, held on Saturday, November 9, and Sunday, November 10, at Spokane Community College’s Lair Student Center.
Kicking off the Fall Folk Festival on Saturday, KPBX, 91.1-FM (Spokane Public Radio), will broadcast live music with artists and groups drawn from the Festival from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm. Co-hosts Steve Jackson and Verne Windham will add commentary, skits and musical interludes to round out the program.
Performers selected for this year’s live broadcast are Gefilte Trout (rollicking klezmer tunes and songs), Caridwen and Greg Spatz (acoustic multi-instrumental duo), Bigger Boat (traditional sea shanties and maritime songs), Extraordinary Renditions (a ride through twentieth century music), Tracy Spring (folk and blues on guitar and mandola), and Kevin Brown (original songs from new album).
To be a part of the studio audience (you can be on the radio) and to watch the KPBX live broadcast performance, come to the Student Center Lair Auditorium. The broadcast begins at 11:00 am and it runs until 1:00 pm. Come for the entire show, or drop in and stay for a tune or two.
