Indian Youth Club of Spokane is a group organized voluntarily by community members and parents to enable kids to celebrate their culture and engaging in community services.

Our video contains three performances. Sindhu Surapaneni performs the first two dances alone. The first dance is a Bharatanatyam dance, a traditional classical Indian dance for Lord Ganesha and Goddess Durga Ma. The second is a free flow casual filmy dance called Tollywood dance.

The third performance is by Sindhu Surapaneni and Uma Warren, both are Indian Youth club of Spokane members. They perform a traditional Indian Bharathanatyam Dance to Gajavadana Beduvae Praising Lord Ganesha.

The meaning of this song and dance is, “I pray to You O elephant-faced son of Parvathi! You are worshipped by all the three worlds. You are the protector of the good (people). You bear the pASa (noose) and ankuSa (goad). You are the most supreme one who has mooShika, the mouse, as your vehicle. You are affectionate and loving to the sages. Kindly and happily show me Your feet. You who is worshipped by sadhus and righteous people, kindly grace me with the ability to worship Lord Purandara vittala who has the lotus in his navel.”
